Links, Inc. celebrate Black History Month with a Fundraiser for Services to Youth
and the Arts The Washington,
Virginia and Maryland Cluster of the The Links, Inc., in conjunction with Nordstrom
celebrated Black History Month on Sunday evening, February 2, 2003. The event
took place at Nordstrom at Fashion Center in Pentagon City Mall in Arlington,
Virginia. Host Chapters included: Arlington, Capital City, Metropolitan, Old Dominion,
Potomac, Prince Georges County, Reston, Silver Spring and Washington, D.C.. National
President of the Links, Inc., Gladys Gary Vaughn, addressed the group and thanked
Nordstrom for its support of this elegant affair. Fine Photographic
Art, Dinner and Desert provided by Design Cuisine, Live Music performed by the
Lori Williams Group and by Mr. Tyrone Vernon, pianist, and Shopping at the upscale
department store furnished the stylish milieu for the Links and their guests.
The fundraiser featured "Love Now", an exhibit of photographs by African-American
Photographers; it raised $30,000 to benefit the Arts Facet of the Links, Inc.
