Pamela Payne and William Foster, Jr. Wed
in Afrocentric Substance and Style
At the Interdenominational Theological Center
in Atlanta, Georgia, Pamela Payne married William Foster,
Jr., in a double-ring, Afrocentric ceremony on August 30,
2003, replete with the tasting of the elements, the pouring
of libations and the jumping of the broom. A reception with
Soul Food fare was held at Paschal's Restaurant & Reception
Center immediately following the wedding ceremony.
The lovely bride is a Preventive Medicine physician employed
by the state of New York. The handsome groom is a Professor
of Social Work at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New
York. After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, West Indies, a post-wedding
reception was held at the Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, New
York on September 20, 2003. The happy couple currently resides
on Long Island, New York but plans to relocate to the groom's
family home in Montgomery, Alabama in the next year.
